Rooted in Nature. Guided by Tradition.
Hi, my name is Mikel Richards and I am the founder of Fiwi Herbs. I have a deep respect for nature and the powerful healing traditions passed down through generations of ancestral herbalists.
I'm a certified herbalist, having graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Western Herbal Medicine from the University of Lincoln.
All of our herbal blends are crafted by hand, using 100% natural wild crafted or organic ingredients, carefully selected to support your body's own ability to detox, restore balance and prosper. Each product is grounded in cultural wellness to provide healing for a variety of concerns including digestion, immunity, emotional resilience and men's and women's health.
We believe healing is personal — that's why we also offer 1-2-1 consultations to help you find the right support for your uniqueness, lifestyle and goals.
“And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.”

Why We Started
My first encounter with herbs that had me intrigued, was my sister who suffered from severe eczema and had tried all the different types of medicine from the doctors. From steroid creams to bandages at night so that she wouldn't have to peel off the bedding in the mornings. But to no avail.
My mum went to her close friend who still practiced traditional herbal medicine from Jamaica. This friend gave my mum half a white rum bottle, filled with barks and leaves that had turned the rum dark brown, and was bitter, to say the least. However, the effects of the herbs spoke for themselves as my sister's eczema disappeared, and you would never know she suffered with it.
This same bottle filled with herbs also gave me flashbacks of my nan, who would also put barks and leaves in rum and leave it to soak for months, taking one cap a day and never getting too sick. Now with my knowledge, I know they were making what we call in herbal medicine, tinctures.
As I got older, I had an aunty who suffered from a condition called Stiff Person Syndrome, and an uncle who had chronic Kidney Disease. Both were taking over 10 tablets a day, but not getting any better. It was at this point I knew there was another way, and started my journey to dig deeper into herbal medicine.
I researched people like Dr Lila Afrika, Dr Sebi, Dr Ben Israel, Patrick Delves and many more. Not knowing which route to take, I took the academic route, returning to education, successfully earning my BSc (Hons) in Western Herbal Medicine at the University of Lincoln, qualifying as a certified herbalist.
When I was at university, the first actual patient I treated was going to have a hysterectomy, but was unsure if she should go ahead with it, as she wanted a family of her own. I gave her a consultation and found it was a hormonal imbalance causing her issues. I made her a hormonal tincture to help balance her endocrine system and bring her hormones back into balance.
Three months later, she conceived her first child.
When you come to Fiwi Herbs, we want you — first of all — to arrive, and second of all, to leave more educated than when you came. By learning the properties of the herbs — how they cleanse, strengthen, and restore — you deepen your natural affinity with them.
