Icelandic Moss (Cetraria Islandica)
The Nordic throat soother — mucous membrane protection, respiratory healing, and gut lining support from the Arctic.
Icelandic moss (Cetraria islandica) is not technically a moss but a lichen — a symbiotic organism that has survived the harshest Arctic conditions for millennia. Rich in mucilaginous polysaccharides (lichenin and isolichenin), it forms a protective coating over irritated mucous membranes, soothing sore throats, dry coughs, gastritis, and gut inflammation with remarkable gentleness. A staple of Scandinavian folk medicine and still used widely across Northern Europe today.
