The UTI herb — the most specific and effective herbal treatment for urinary tract infections, approved by the European Medicines Agency.

Uva ursi (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi), also known as bearberry, is the most targeted herbal remedy for urinary tract infections available. Its primary active compound — arbutin — is converted in the urine to hydroquinone, a potent urinary antiseptic that kills the bacteria responsible for UTIs (including E. coli) directly in the urinary tract. Approved by the EMA, German Commission E, and used in European herbal medicine for centuries, uva ursi is the first-choice herbal intervention for uncomplicated lower UTIs and is most effective in alkaline urine (avoid vitamin C during use).

Key Benefits
Urinary tract infections (UTIs) · Urinary antiseptic · Kidney & bladder support · Diuretic · Anti-inflammatory (urinary) · Cystitis relief

How to Use
Cold infusion (best method to reduce tannin irritation): soak 2 tsp dried uva ursi in 250ml cold water for 12–24 hours. Drink 1–3 cups daily for up to 7–10 days. Astringent, slightly bitter flavour. Do not take vitamin C during use — acidic urine prevents arbutin activation. Pairs well with cornsilk or marshmallow root to soothe the urinary tract.

When to Expect Results
UTI symptom relief: 2–5 days · Full infection clearance: 5–10 days of consistent use. If symptoms worsen or fever develops, seek medical care.
